DIRECTOR • SET DESIGNER

Set in the Seventh Circle, hell’s most squalid cabaret venue, high school diva Desmond Channing recounts the events that drove him to murder his drama club rival in this dark solo comedy musical.

The European premiere of DIVA: Live From Hell! by Nora Brigid Monahan and Alexander Sage Oyen was scheduled for a limited season at the Brockley Jack Studio Theatre in South London, opening in March 2020. The run was sadly cancelled due to the theatre shutdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. After rehearsals concluded, the show played only one performance to an invited audience of friends and family. The show would be resurrected in 2022 with Luke Bayer, but this original London production featured Jak Malone, who went on to win the Olivier and Tony Awards for his portrayal of Hester Leggatt in Operation Mincemeat.
The show that never got to open.
